Print and layout design
Print is certainly not dead - the emphasis has just shifted slightly. With the internet, eBooks and what have you, printed materials have attained something of an objet d'art status. Something tangible and worth keeping.
When I was at university back in the 1800s, the internet was barely a thing, so a large part of my graphic design studies focussed on design for print, and I've never lost my enthusiasm for it. That said, progress is a wonderful thing, and I bloody love the Adobe Creative Suite. Even InDesign - for all its faffery and fiddlyness - has become something of a friend. Not like a best mate or anything, but still one that I could count on getting the job done well, and one I'd happily have a pint with, even if I did find them a bit annoying.
